Poppy - Tutti Frutti Mix (Red + Pink) (Papaver rhoeas) Non-GMO – Organically Grown – Flower

Annual

Description:

The Tutti Frutti Mix is a vibrant blend of red and pink poppies (Papaver rhoeas), also known as corn poppies or field poppies. These delicate, papery blooms bring an explosion of color to gardens, meadows, and borders. Renowned for their graceful, airy petals and slender stems, they sway beautifully in the breeze. Perfect for pollinator gardens, they attract bees and butterflies, adding life and movement to any landscape.

Growing Instructions:

Light: Full sun (6+ hours of direct sunlight daily).

Soil: Well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Can tolerate poor or sandy soils.

Watering: Water lightly but consistently until established. Once mature, they are drought-tolerant. Avoid overwatering.

Temperature: Thrives in cool weather; ideal temperatures range from 10°C to 24°C (50°F to 75°F).

Spacing: Space plants 6-12 inches apart for best growth.

Height: Grows 18-24 inches tall.

Maintenance: Deadhead spent blooms to extend flowering. Leave some seed heads on the plant if self-seeding is desired.

Stratification:

For better germination rates, stratify seeds before planting:

1. Mix seeds with a small amount of dry sand for easier distribution.

2. Place the seeds in a sealed bag and refrigerate at 4°C (39°F) for 2-4 weeks.

3. Directly sow the stratified seeds outdoors in early spring or late fall for natural germination cycles.

Planting Instructions:

Indoors: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Sprinkle seeds on the surface of moist soil without covering, as light aids germination. Keep the soil consistently moist at 15-20°C (59-68°F). Germination occurs in 10-15 days.

Outdoors: Sow seeds directly onto prepared soil after the last frost or in autumn for blooms the following spring. Scatter seeds thinly, press them lightly into the soil, and water gently.

Additional Notes:

Poppies are ideal for wildflower meadows, cottage gardens, and naturalized settings.

The Tutti Frutti Mix reseeds itself easily, ensuring a new burst of colour year after year in suitable conditions.

This cheerful mix of red and pink poppies will brighten any space and provide an easy-to-grow splash of natural beauty!
