Nana's are those 'one in a million' true blue persons whose memory, and the shared memories they've made with us, will last forever. In honour of true blue Nana's everywhere that have or continue to enhance(d) our lives, we very much appreciate all that you have passed onto us. We chose to honor you with blue flowers because, just like our Nana's, these are uncommon and their beautiful presence, once experienced, remains forever treasured.

Nana's True Blue Floral Mix is an assortment of annual and perennial flowers that is easy to sow and grow, and will mature into a serene carpet-like addition to full sun or part sun areas. Nana's True Blue Floral Mix features gorgeous indigo blue blossoms in a variety of heights and textures including:

Annuals

Cornflowers (Centaurea cyanus) - A favorite in meadows with silver foliage that offsets its vivid blue blooms. Attracts birds, especially American goldfinches, bees and butterflies.  Grows 36 in tall.

California Bluebells (Phacelia campanularia) - indigo blue flowers; plants are drought resistant. Also called Desert Bluebell, this little wildflower is native to dry desert conditions. Grows 8 to 20 in tall.

Chinese Forget Me Nots (Cynoglossum amabile) - this variety has very tiny blue flowers and blooms just weeks after planting; attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. Great for cutting flower gardens. Grows 18 to 24 in tall.

Globe Gilia (Gilia capitata) - also known as the blue thimble flower; has lovely bluey purplish blooms. Rounded globe-like flowerheads are similar to clovers.

Baby Blue Eyes (Nemophila menziesii) - dainty sky blue flowers bloom early as other wildflowers are still in small seedlings stage. Grows 4 to 12 in tall.

Blue Pimpernel (Anagallis monelli) - one inch bright blue flowers with a pink eye and yellow anthers. Neat and compact, this Mediterranean native grows to 10 in tall.

Lacy Phacelia (Phacelia tanacetifolia) - attracts bees and other beneficial insects. This wildflower grows well in hot, harsh desert conditions, but it adapts easily to other environments. The flower spike is light blue-violet and the foliage is fern-like and lacy in appearance. 12 to 24 in tall.

Perennials

Lupines - a mix of lupines - Perennial (Lupinus perennis), a basic blue wild variety combined with 'Arroyo' (Lupinus succulentus), one of the best sky blue colored annual lupins. Grows 36 to 48 in tall.

Blue Flax - (Linum perenne) easy to grow, and will spread gradually. Attracts bees and is perfect to use as a base and keep adding new wildflower varieties to as years progress. Grows 18 to 30 in tall.

Blue Sage (Salvia farinacea) - gorgeous salvia with greyish/green leaves and small spikes of vivid blue flowers. Drought tolerant. Grows 12 to 24 in tall.

Nana's True Blue blooms are an excellent choice for cutting flower gardens. Attracts bees and butterflies with an extended bloom time that typically exceeds 4 weeks. This is an easy to sow and grow blend that requires minimal maintenance; lightly water in until established - deadheading promotes ongoing blooms. This blend is also a perfect base for ongoing wildflower meadow projects.
