What is Okra you ask?
Okra or Okro, also known as Ladies' Fingers or Ochro, is a flowering plant in the mallow family that has edible green tube like fruits that have a fresh grass like flavour, and are great fried or added to gumbo! Okra also acts like a natural thickener and can be added to stews and soups.

  • To germinate okra seeds, start by soaking the seeds in water for 12-24 hours to soften the seed coat. Place the tray or pots in a warm location with plenty of sunlight. Once the seedlings emerge, provide adequate light, and transplant them to larger containers or the garden after a few weeks when they have developed true leaves.
