Fenugreek is an annual plant packed with Vitamin A and D, Protein and Iron. And, Organic fenugreek seeds make excellent sprouts and micro-greens!

Fenugreek leaves consist of three small oblong leaflets - similar to a clover leaf; it is excellent as a dry-region crop. Fenugreek's fresh and dried seeds, leaves, twigs, and roots are common ingredients in Indian dishes as a spice, flavouring agent, and garnish.

Fenugreek also has medicinal properties - it is used as a demulcent, laxative, and as a supplement to treat diabetes and gastrointestinal disorders. Fenugreek leaves are also rich in dietary fibre and iron. Sprouted fenugreek seeds are believed to have amazing benefits on the metabolic diseases, and as a result, these seeds are considered part of as a large number of nutraceuticals. Sprouted fenugreek seeds are said to lower the absorption of glucose from the large intestine and improves beta cells generation in the pancreatic Islet's of Langerhans.

One of the most common ways to prepare fenugreek seeds is to soak these in a glass of water overnight. The soaked seeds can be eaten in the morning on an empty stomach. If you find the taste too bitter, you can also boil them in water to reduce the unpleasant taste and make them easier to chew and swallow. Consult your doctor or dietician before starting if you are unsure; typical consumption is 1 to 2 teaspoons of fenugreek sprouts daily for 3 months. It is highly recommended that you must take a break after this period, and let the digestive system get rid of excess herbs and other compounds. 

Fenugreek can be easily grown in pots, containers or even grow bags. Plant seeds in a pot and place them on a sunny windowsill, on the balcony or in your patio garden. This herb is a shallow-rooted plant, so you won't need a deep container. Use a wide planter around 6 to 8 in deep with good drainage.
