Cucumber - Pioneer (Cucumis sativus) Non GMO & Organic - Pioneer Pickling Cucumber Heirloom Vegetable

  • High yields of 3 to 6" long dark green cucumbers. Crunchy flesh makes it great for making pickles.
  • Yields smooth, refined, dark-green slicer with a crisp crunch and sweet flavour.
  • Start seeds indoors 1-2 seeds per cell about 6 weeks before transplanting; thin to 1 seedling per cell when true leaves form; transplant when seedlings are strong enough to handle and danger of frost has passed. Direct seed after frost danger. Plant in small hills 90cm apart and 6 seeds per hill. Pick fruits regularly to keep producing.
  • Choose a warm, well-drained soil. Raised beds work well. Add dolomite lime and compost or well-rotted manure to the bed and ½-1 cup of complete organic fertilizer mixed into the soil beneath each transplant. Cucumbers are vigorous and need lots of nutrition and water.
  • Seed Count: 30
