This variety is known as Wild Thyme, and is a low maintenance variety of Thyme that is ideal for culinary use and has an aroma similar to oregano, and is slightly milder than the stronger scented english variety. Also makes a fantastic choice for use as an evergreen groundcover for pathways and exudes a fabulous perfume when walked on. Reddish pink flowers are highly attractive to bees. Native to southern, western and central Europe and may be used as a substitute wherever Creeping Thyme is used, but not available.
