This pumpkin variety ‘Lumina’ produces produces mid-sized fruits with a smooth, ghostly white rind and a fine-grained, bright orange flesh. The fruits are typically 10 to 12 pounds and 8 to 10 inches in diameter. Lumina white pumpkins stores well. Smaller pumpkins are grown for cooking and eating, while the larger sizes are for Jack-o’-lanterns and exhibition.
Pumpkins require a long growing season, so cooler areas will do better with smaller varieties. Note: too much fertilizer will result in all vine. Pumpkins require too much space to be grown in containers. This variety is great for carving and is edible.

- Start seeds indoors 3 weeks before the plant out date. Pumpkins do not transplant well; recommend using paper or fibre pots that can be set directly in the soil.
- Direct sow 2 or 3 weeks after the last average frost date. Plant 6 to 8 seeds in each inverted hill. Keep pumpkins well watered.
- Harvest: typically ready for harvest 95 to 120 days after planting. Pumpkins can stay on the vine for a long time, but ensure to harvest before the first hard frost as they will get mushy.
