Stunning and very interesting garden feature plants with chinese pagoda-shaped inflorescences of purple and white flowers. Chinese Houses, also known as Blue-Eyed Marys, are native to western North America; plants thrive in cool weather and are perfect for woodland gardens as Chinese Houses are somewhat unique among wildflowers - they prefer shade - whereas most native annual wildflowers thrive with lots of sunlight. Blooms late spring to early summer.

Compact and easy maintenance.

• Sun to part shade
• rich moist soil
• start seeds in the spring or fall;  scatter seeds on prepared area with loosened, weed free soil. Compress the seeds into the dirt and water in lightly. Needs light to germinate so do not cover the seeds 
• Harvest: seed pods will turn brown and split; best method to gather seeds is to cut plant down when most of seed pods have ripened and hang to dry to capture ripened seeds before it self seeds.

• If allowed to self seed it will make a dense colony.
