Portulaca Grandiflora is a succulent flowering plant in the family Portulacaceae, native to southern Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, and is a well-known ornamental garden plant and goes by many names such as rose moss, eleven o'clock, Mexican rose, moss rose, sun rose, rock rose, and moss-rose purslane.
Purslane, often called Portulaca, is a drought and heat tolerant flowering plant that is often grown as a low maintenance annual. Dazzling 2 in. flowers are produced throughout the summer. Plants form easy to grow 'carpets' of brilliant scarlet red blooms. Growth is to 3-4 in. high, and 14-16 in. across. Toucan Scarlet Shades is an outstanding, temporary ground cover that will brighten mixed borders, look great in patio pots, and is an excellent choice for hanging baskets.
This is an old fashioned large single rose variety. Excellent flower display; this low growing plant likes a sunny location and can be used as a spiller in containers, window boxes, borders, or grown as a groundcover in the garden. Also makes a great houseplant. Colours range from white, shades of yellow, orange, pink, violet scarlet and bicolours

Keep moist but not soggy -provide a strong light source while seedlings become well-established. When both day and night temperatures stay above 10 C, acclimate to outdoor conditions. Transplant 8 inches apart into well-drained soil
