This is a true blue colored flower. Phacelia is a beautiful low growing, drought tolerant member of the borage family Boraginaceae, and is also known by the common names desertbells, desert bluebells, California-bluebell, desert scorpionweed, and desert Canterbury bells. This plant is looks fabulous in mass plantings like a floral carpet. Attracts wild bees and pollinator insects.

  • Recommend to direct sow in the spring while the soil is still cool. Ensure the seed is covered well because they need darkness to germinate.
  • Broadcast the seeds into well draining soil and allow for 2 inches 5 cm apart  and 1/4 in deep in all directions if possible
  • Sow after danger of frost has passed but soil is cool.
