Summer
Lungo Bianco di Sicilia is an Italian heirloom variety that has a very pale green, almost white skin, and it is a slender zucchini, though it gets bulbous towards the end opposite the stem. When small, the zucchini will have no ribbing, but ribbing appears as they grow larger.
This variety is a very popular, and a hard to find squash variety, which is also known as Bianco Lungo Cylindrical, and just to confuse things...it is sometimes known as Zucchini Lungo Bianco. This summer squash has a sweet, mild flavour.
Bianco Lungo has a bush type growing habit that makes it an excellent choice for small gardens and containers, and is an excellent producer. Harvest fruits when they are about 8 inches long.
