Eryngium - Rattlesnake Master (Eryngium yuccifolium) Non-GMO - Organically Grown

Perennial Wildflower

Rattlesnake Master (Eryngium yuccifolium) is a bold, architectural perennial wildflower with sword-like, bluish-green leaves and globular, silver-white flower heads that bloom atop tall stems. Native to North America, this unique plant thrives in oralrie and style gardens, adding texture and attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Its spiny, yucca-like form brings a wild, sculptural flair to naturalized plantings.

Growing Instructions:

Soil: Prefers well-drained, dry to average soil; tolerant of sandy or rocky conditions.

Light: Full Sun (FS)

Water: Drought-tolerant once established. Water regularly in first season to encourage deep roots.

Direct Sow: Direct red in fall or after stratification in spring; avoid transplanting as it does not like being transplanted.

Spacing: 18–24 inches apart.

Height: 3–5 feet tall.

Bloom Time: Mid to late summer.

Maintenance: Minimal care; leave seed heads for winter interest or wildlife.

Stratification Needed:

Mix seeds with moist sand or vermiculite and refrigerate for 30 days.

After cold stratification, sow on surface (do not cover), press lightly into soil for light exposure.

Keep moist in a warm, bright location.

Germination: 12–30 days, but can be variable and slow. Patience is essential.

Seed count: 10

Perfect for prairie restoration, pollinator habitats, and wildflower borders, Rattlesnake Master thrives with neglect and rewards with standout structure and resilience.
