Didiscus - Blue Lace Flower Mix (Didiscus caeruleus) Trachymene coerulea Heirloom Lace Flower

Introduced from Australia in 1828, Didiscus caerulea, also known as Trachymene coerulea belongs to a broad genus of annuals or semi-perennials and is known as the Blue Lace Flower for the unusual pale lavender-blue flower colour of the species. 

The lavender-blue flat flower heads of this heirloom resemble Queen Anne's lace. Its bountiful flowers, curving stems, and delicate deeply-lobed leaves are graceful additions to cottage and cutting gardens.

The lightly fragrant flowers make excellent, long-lasting cut flowers that bloom for months through summer and well into the fall. Curiously, this plant is related to dill & fennel, though it is not edible.

 Blue Lace Flowers are true 'cut and come again' plants - the more flowers you cut the more they bloom!
