Silene - Garden Catchfly ( Silene armeria) Wildflower Rose of Heaven Flower 

Perennial grown as an annual in colder climates

Height: 50 cm  12-18 in

Dainty. Sweet little airy wildflower that would be an excellent addition to any cottage garden or meadow garden.  Also known as Sweet William Catchfly as 'Catchfly'- name refers to the somewhat sticky feeling of the stems which catches little insects.  Subtle green-gray leaves on this plant absolutely compliment the tall stems that hold dainty clusters of spreading 25 cm white centered rosy pink flowers. Makes an eccellent cutting flower!

  • Direct sow is recommended in late fall 3 weeks prior to last frost date or early spring while still cooler; scatter where you want to grow and water in lightly.
