Cherry Belle radishes is one of the most popular radishes! An heirloom originating in Holland. Plants produce round and bright, cherry red radishes that are 1 in in diameter, with 2.5 in - in tops. The crisp flesh tastes mild, is firm and white. Keeps well and can be planted all summer long. This variety is a fast maturing, early-season radish, best used immature in salads and condiments.
Radishes can be grown all season but they're easiest when sown March/April and again August through October. Optimal soil temperature: 18-24°C (65-75°F).
- Full sun to part shade
- Well worked rich, loose well-drained soil
- You can soak radish seeds before planting to encourage faster germination. Place them in clean water and let them sit for up to 24 hours before planting. Note: this is not required as long as the growing medium is moist and warm
- Sow indoors 4-6 weeks prior to the last frost date; sow seeds 1/4 in deep and transplant to outdoors after all risk of frost has passed.
- Sow outdoors: 25 seeds per 30cm 12 in in rows spaced 30-45cm 12-18 in apart; thin to 6-12 plants per 30 cm 12 in.
- Germination: 3-7 days.
- Days to Maturity: 25-55 days.
- Frost tolerant; radishes are best in cool weather.
- Proven tops for performance, flavour and wide adaptability.
- Seed Count: 2 grams
