California ‘Bridal Silk’ Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) White Poppies Flower
California ‘Bridal Silk’ Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) White Poppies Flower
Annual
Height 12-18 in
This California poppy wildflower is a sparkling contrast to any rockeries, borders and wildflower meadows! Pretty teardrop buds that open to single cup-like flowers in delicate creamy white to pale yellow shades that close in the evening or when it is cloudy. Californian Poppies make an impact planted en mass as a wildflower or also combines beautifully with spring bulbs such as daffodils and cool coloured summer perennials.
If planted in the fall, poppies bloom typically 55 days after seeding, and will be the first flowers in bloom the following spring, or plant in the spring for summer blooms. Poppies grow 12 to 18 in tall and wide. This variety is a short-lived perennial, and treated as a hardy and drought tolerant annual. This variety self sows readily year after year, and establishes itself well along dry garden edges, rock gardens and gravel areas where little else grows.
