How to Grow

Direct sow outdoors after all danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed. Plant seeds ½–1 inch deep in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny location. Water consistently until seedlings are established. Once mature, sunflowers are fairly drought tolerant but will produce larger blooms with regular watering. Taller varieties may benefit from staking in windy areas.
