Gorgeous 25 cm clear blue flowers bloom from June-August starting in the first year, and blue green needlelike leaves of graceful stems. Discovered by Meriwether Lewis in the late 1700s. Like many other wildflowers found on plant-hunting expeditions, these ended up as status symbols in European gardens. Historically used in rope making and used today for 'linen' fiber and linseed oil
- Recommended to direct seeding in fall or early spring. Scatter the seeds and rake them into the soil, covering them 1/16-inch deep.
