Long Island Improved Brussels Sprouts are semi dwarf plants reaching two feet tall. Provides excellent crops of flavourful sprouts. An excellent variety for freezing. This is a great all around open pollinated brussels sprout variety, adaptable to any home organic vegetable garden.
Early maturing with medium green, firm, button-like sprouts that are evenly spaced and well formed. Don't transplant until late April, and then harvest masses of tasty sprouts from late August through September. Plant more seeds in June for transplanting in August. These will be ready for late fall and winter harvests, so you can be the one to bring Brussels sprouts to the holiday dinner parties. Avoid transplanting Brussels sprouts into high nitrogen soils.
