Full Description

Lavender Peony Poppy is a stunning heirloom variety known for its large, fully double, peony-style blooms in soft lavender to mauve tones. The ruffled petals create an elegant, romantic flower that stands out in cottage gardens, wildflower plantings, and floral arrangements. Plants produce tall, sturdy stems with blue-green foliage and dramatic seed pods that are excellent for drying and ornamental use.

This variety is easy to grow, highly attractive to pollinators, and thrives in cooler weather. Once established, it is drought tolerant and low maintenance, making it ideal for both beginner and experienced gardeners.

Medicinal Properties

Papaver somniferum has a long history in traditional herbal medicine. The plant contains naturally occurring alkaloids that have been historically used for pain relief and calming effects. Today, it is primarily grown as an ornamental flower. The dried seed pods are often used decoratively, and the seeds are edible and commonly used in baking.
