Full Description

Super Cactus Senorita Pink Zinnia is a breathtaking heirloom flower variety producing large, fully double cactus-style blooms in vivid shades of rosy pink and soft magenta. The uniquely twisted and curled petals give each bloom a fluffy, dramatic appearance that stands out beautifully in garden beds and floral arrangements. Long stems and prolific blooms make this zinnia an exceptional cut flower choice for bouquets, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and market growing.

Zinnias are beloved for their heat tolerance, fast growth, and continuous flowering from summer until frost. Butterflies, bees, and other beneficial pollinators are highly attracted to these vibrant blooms. Easy to grow and rewarding for gardeners of all experience levels, Super Cactus Senorita Pink adds bold color and texture to any sunny garden space.

Medicinal Properties

While primarily grown as an ornamental flower, zinnias have been traditionally associated with wellness and emotional healing symbolism. Some herbal traditions have used zinnia flowers in mild topical preparations and calming floral infusions, though they are not commonly used medicinally in modern herbal medicine. Zinnias are valued more for supporting pollinators and bringing beauty and biodiversity into the garden.

Growing Information From Seed

Sow seeds directly outdoors after danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed. Zinnias dislike root disturbance, though they may also be started indoors 3–4 weeks before transplanting carefully.

Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep in well-draining soil. Space plants 9–12 inches apart to encourage airflow and healthy growth. Germination typically occurs within 5–10 days in warm soil temperatures around 70–80°F.

Keep soil lightly moist during germination. Once established, zinnias are fairly drought tolerant but perform best with regular watering at the base of the plant. Deadhead spent blooms frequently to encourage continuous flowering throughout the season.

These plants grow quickly and bloom heavily in hot summer weather. Avoid overhead watering to help prevent powdery mildew. Excellent for cut flowers, borders, containers, and pollinator gardens.
