Full Description

Eryngium ‘Blue Star’ (Eryngium alpinum) is a striking and elegant perennial known for its metallic blue, thistle-like flowers surrounded by dramatic spiky bracts. This variety is a softer and shorter form of alpine sea holly, making it ideal for smaller gardens, borders, and modern perennial plantings.

Growing to a manageable height of 12–28 inches, ‘Blue Star’ produces long-lasting blooms that add strong architectural interest and unique texture. The flowers are excellent for both fresh and dried arrangements, retaining their colour and form beautifully.

Highly attractive to bees and other pollinators, Eryngium is also deer resistant and drought tolerant once established, making it a low-maintenance yet visually bold garden plant.
