Wallflower – (Cheiranthus cheiri)

Annual

Height: 30 cm

A southern European plant of the cabbage family, this is an all time old English favourite for cottage gardens as it has highly fragrant yellow, orange-red, dark red, or brown flowers, cultivated for its early spring blooming

Also known as wallflowers, 'erysimum' flowers from early spring and can linger long after Midsummer's Day. Some forms are sweetly scented, too, their fragrance hovering somewhere between parma violet and mellow honey.

Medicinal uses: Wallflower is a plant; the parts that grow above the ground are used to make medicine. People use wallflower for heart problems, constipation, liver disease, and others conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses. Wallflowers provide pollen and nectar for a range of bees species, especially bumble bees and numerous solitary species.
