Hollyhocks (Alcea) are a genus of over 80 species of flowering plants in the mallow family Malvaceae which are commonly known as hollyhocks, which are native to Asia and Europe. Also known as Alcea rosea, Alcee Rose, Althaea ficifolia, Althaea rosea, Althea Rose, Hollyhock flower, Malva, Malva flower, Malvaie Arboreae Flowers, Passerose, Rose Mallow, Rose de Mer, Rose Paple and Rose Tremi. This Indian Spring variety is an heirloom favourite and makes an excellent vertical accent flower that is perfect for the back of borders and or a stand alone statement plant.
- Large 12 cm or 4 in flowers are ruffled and range in shades of rose, red and white.
- Annual: this heirloom hollyhock variety, although a perennial, is actually grown as an annual.

- Direct seed 2 weeks before last frost. Cover with 1 cm of soil.
